Since its premiere in 1791 in Vienna, Mozart's DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE has captivated audiences worldwide. The work combines folk-like elements with seriousness, fairy tales with reason and tells of a search for love and the hope for a shared future. Michael Hampe's production from the year 2020 - his last work for the Opera Cologne - is now back on the schedule. In Katharina Müllner and José Luis Gutiérrez, two newcomers are making their debut at the podium of the Gürzenich Orchestra.
