Alina König Rannenberg
Vita
Alina König Rannenberg studied opera at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden with Prof. Hendrikje Wangemann after completing her Bachelor's degree at the Nuremberg University of Music with Elisabeth Kovacs. She received further musical impulses through masterclasses with Klesie Kelly, Christoph Prégardien and Juliane Banse. She was supported by the Theo Adam Scholarship in the Deutschlandstipendium programme and was a scholarship holder of the Giovanni Omodeo Foundation in 2023. While still studying for her master's degree in Dresden, she made her house and role debut at Leipzig Opera's Musical Comedy as Daisy Gray in Leo Fall's ‘The Dollar Princess’. Further guest engagements have taken her to the Meiningen State Theatre and the Dresden State Operetta. Alina König Rannenberg's opera repertoire also includes the roles of Zerlina (Mozart's ‘Don Giovanni’), Ännchen (Weber's ‘Der Freischütz’), The Widow (Dominick Argento's ‘The boor’), Mrs Fiorentino (Kurt Weill's ‘Street Scene’) and Cupido (Offenbach's ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’). The soprano has also performed as a concert soloist in Joseph Haydn's ‘Stabat Mater’, W.A. Mozart's ‘Exsultate, Jubilate’, Saint-Saëns‘ “Oratorio de Noël”, J. S. Bach's St John Passion and his Christmas Oratorio and many other Bach cantatas, including BWV51 (’Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen"). She has been a member of the Cologne Children's Opera ensemble since the 2023.24 season.
Her roles in Cologne include Libelle/Nashornkäfer in ‘Marla, die Maifliege’, the Cockerel in ‘Die Bremer Stadtmuskanten’, Bertil in ‘Nils Karlsson Däumling’, Fräulein Andacht in ‘Pünktchen und Anton’, Mercutio in Blacher's ‘Romeo and Juliet’, one of the nieces in ‘Peter Grimes’, a doppelganger of E in the world premiere of ‘INES’ and Sandmännchen/Taumännchen in ‘Hänsel und Gretel’. Dorinda in Handel's ‘Orlando’ follows in November 2024, followed by Frasquita in ‘Carmen’ and the Queen of the Night in ‘The Magic Flute for Young and Old’.
