Maike Raschke
Vita
The Berlin-born soprano studied in Hannover and in her home town. As a member of the International Opera Studio at the Cologne Opera (2009 to 2011), she made her debut at the Cologne Opera in roles including Stella in Offenbach's ‘Hoffmann's Tales’, Tebaldo (‘Don Carlo’), Amore/Valletto (‘L'incoronazione di Poppea’), Servilia (‘La clemenza di Tito’) and Papagena (‘The Magic Flute’). In the 2010/11 season, she also appeared in the highly acclaimed staged premiere of Stockhausen's ‘Sonntag’ from the opera cycle ‘Licht’. She played the Fisherman's Wife in the world premiere of Ingfried Hoffmann's ‘Vom Fischer und seiner Frau’. Guest engagements have taken her to the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, Theater Hagen, Theater Dortmund, Komische Oper Berlin, Ruhrtriennale, Wiener Festwochen and Potsdamer Winteroper, among others. At the Cologne Opera, she sang, among other roles, Ida in ‘Die Fledermaus’, Klärchen in ‘Im weißen Rössl’, the roles of Papagena and the First Lady in ‘The Magic Flute for Children’, the Second Nanny in Kurt Weill's ‘Street Scene’ and Olga in Jacques Offenbach's ‘La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein’, 2nd Nanny in Kurt Weill's ‘Street Scene’ and Olga in Jacques Offenbach's ‘La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein’, 2nd Elf in ‘Rusalka’, Ascagne in ‘Les Troyens’, Sandman/Dew Fairy in ‘Hänsel und Gretel’ and the Confidante in ‘Elektra’. She is also a member of the ensemble at the Cologne Children's Opera, where she has appeared in a wide range of roles: in Wulff-Woeste's ‘The Story of the Fox Who Lost His Mind’, as Fräulein Andacht in ‘Pünktchen and Anton’, in ‘Marla, the Ma , as Wellgunde / 2nd Nibelung in ‘Das Rheingold for Young and Old’ and as 2nd Norn / Wellgunde in ‘Götterdämmerung for Young and Old’ and Papagena in ‘The Magic Flute’. Her most recent roles in the children's opera include Bradamante in Marius Felix Lange's ‘The Song of the Enchanted Island’, the nasty little girl in Connor Mitchell's ‘The Musician’, the child of fortune in ‘The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs’, Hanna in ‘The Bremen Town Musicians’, Mercutio in Blacher's ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and Bertil in ‘Nils Karlsson Pygmalion’.
