Stephan Steinmetz
Vita
Stephan Steinmetz studierte Theaterwissenschaften mit Schwerpunkt Musiktheater an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Daran schlossen sich Hospitanzen an der Staatsoper Stuttgart, der Münchner Biennale für neues Musiktheater und den Salzburger Festspielen an. Von 1995 bis 2002 war er als Dramaturg für Oper, Ballett und Konzert am Ulmer Theater tätig und 2002 bis 2007 in derselben Funktion am Stadttheater Bern. In der Spielzeit 2007.08 folgte ein Engagement an der Oper Leipzig und 2009 bis 2011 am Saarländischen Staatstheater in Saarbrücken. Zu den weiteren Aktivitäten zählt die Mitarbeit im Pressebüro der Bayreuther Festspiele 2009. 2011 bis 2014 war er Dramaturg für die Sparten Oper, Ballett und Konzert am Hessischen Staatstheater Wiesbaden, 2014 bis 2020 Dramaturg für Oper und Ballett am Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen mit Verantwortung für zahlreiche Sonderprojekte und Veranstaltungsreihen sowie 2020 bis 2022 Operndramaturg am Badischen Staatstheater Karlsruhe.
Stephan Steinmetz arbeitet als Produktionsdramaturg u.a. mit Regisseur*innen wie Michael Schulz, Gerd Heinz, Harry Kupfer, Elisabeth Stöppler, Tatjana Gürbaca, Nigel Lowery, Immo Karaman, Floris Visser, Ludger Engels, Christopher Alden, Richard Siegal, Kay Link, Ben Baur, Manuel Schmitt und Anja Kühnhold.
