Evgeny Stavinsky
Vita
Evgeny Stavinsky graduated as a singer and choral conductor from the Moscow Choral Academy in 2003. He spent the following two years in Florence, where he sang several roles at the Maggio Musicale: the title role in Mozart's ‘Don Giovanni’, Lord Sidney in ‘Il viaggio a Reims’ and Don Basilio in ‘Il barbiere di Siviglia’ by Rossini as well as Budd in Britten's ‘Albert Herring’. In 2007, he joined the ensemble of the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow. There he sang Thoas in Gluck's ‘Iphigénie en Tauride’, Ruslan in Glinka's ‘Ruslan and Ljudmila’, Pimen in Mussorgsky's ‘Boris Godunov’, Prince Gremin in Tchaikovsky's ‘Onegin’, Méphistophélès in Gounod's ‘Faust’, Heinrich der Vogler in ‘Lohengrin’ and King Marke in ‘Tristan und Isolde’ by Wagner as well as La Roche in ‘Capriccio’ by Richard Strauss. Guest appearances have taken him to the Teatro Comunale in Bologna as Raimondo in Donizetti's ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’, to Palermo as Oroveso in Bellini's ‘Norma’, to Budapest as Méphistophélès, to Basel as Padre Guardiano in Verdi's ‘La forza del destino’, to the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg as Don Basilio, and to St. Petersburg as Colline in Puccini. Petersburg, as Colline in Puccini's ‘La Bohème’ in Bologna and in Donizetti's ‘L'Ange de Nisida’ at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. His other engagements include Zaccaria in Verdi's ‘Nabucco’ in Ravenna, Ferrara, Nice and Toulon, Prince Ivan Khovansky in Mussorgsky's ‘Khovanshchina’ in Budapest, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony under Riccardo Muti in Athens and Ravenna Conte di Walter in Verdi's ‘Luisa Miller’ at the Glyndebourne Festival, Raimondo in ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’ at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. Most recently, he sang Silva in ‘Ernani’ in Valencia, Ramfis in ‘Aida’ in Turin, Padre Guardiano in ‘La forza del destino’ at the Royal Opera London, Archibaldo in Montemezzi's ‘L'amore dei tre re’ and Melchthal in Rossini's ‘Guillaume Tell’ at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Aquarius in ‘Rusalka’ at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège.
